The photo below is of a bus in Herat. Perhaps HiK has seen it rumble by on the friendly streets of Herat? The photo is from Dr. Williams travel photos of Afghanistan.
Dr. Williams ventures a guess that the bus is left over from the days when the Hippie Trail traversed Afghanistan. Back in the days when I would pick on people I suggested that the hippies may have destroyed Afghanistan (sort of).

I think I have, but I totally hadn’t noticed it. Since I am home-bound with that special brand of Afghanistan’s illness (you know, where 2 or 3 ailments all become 1 big complaint…), I can’t check for sure…

I think I saw lots of buses in Kabul that had words like this on them. I really really wanted to spend a whole day driving around, just taking photos.

A lot of things happened in Afghanistan in the 1980s and 1990s that motivated the Taliban more. And they don’t seem to have a problem with long hair and beards.

I agree. The post at Afghanistanica is just pure sarcasm. I just feel that the hippies need to be blamed for something.
